Current tab in one click

Open the toolbar popup to see the current tab’s schedule, or create one for it.

The Tab Scheduler popup opens when you click the extension icon in your browser toolbar. It shows whether the page you are looking at has a schedule, and it lets you start a new schedule for that page without copying its address.

How the toolbar popup works

The popup has three parts.

  • At the top are the pause switch and the Settings button. Settings opens the settings page, or switches to it if it is already open.
  • Current tab schedule lists the schedules that match the tab you are on, with their open and close times, title and description. A schedule matches when its Website Link is the same as the tab's address, or when it covers the address by using * or URL Filtering.
  • Schedule current tab shows the address of the current tab in a box, with the button Create a schedule for this tab below it.

If no schedule matches, the popup says No schedule for this tab. If all schedules are paused, it tells you so and reminds you to use the switch at the top to resume.

How to schedule the current tab from the popup

  1. Go to the page you want to check or schedule.
  2. Click the Tab Scheduler icon in the toolbar. If you do not see it, click the puzzle piece icon in the toolbar and pin Tab Scheduler.
  3. Read Current tab schedule to see when this page opens or closes.
  4. To add a schedule, check the address in the Schedule current tab box. You can edit it first, for example to keep only the main part of a long link.
  5. Click Create a schedule for this tab. The settings page opens with the address already in Website Link.
  6. Choose Select Frequency, Schedule Type and the times, then click Save Schedule.

When to use the toolbar popup

  • You are reading a news site at lunch and wonder whether your close schedule will shut it. One click on the icon shows the close time for this page.
  • You find a webinar page that you want to open every Monday at 10:00. Click the icon, click Create a schedule for this tab, choose Every Week, tick Monday, set 10:00 and save.
  • You are on example.com/reports/2026/october but want to schedule the main reports page. Shorten the address in the box to example.com/reports before you click the button.

Good to know about the toolbar popup

  • Only schedules that are switched on are listed. Schedules that are off, or locked because they go over the Free plan limit of 5, do not appear.
  • One-time schedules whose time has already passed are not shown.
  • A schedule that uses Do not close pinned tabs is not listed when the current tab is pinned, and one that uses Close only incognito tabs is not listed in a normal tab, because neither would close this tab.
  • Nothing is saved until you click Save Schedule on the settings page.
  • You can also press Alt+Shift+S to open the form for the current tab without the popup.

Questions and answers

Why does the popup say No schedule for this tab?

No switched-on schedule matches the address of the tab you are on. Check the Website Link of your schedule, or use * or URL Filtering if the address changes.

Does Create a schedule for this tab save a schedule right away?

No. It opens the settings page with the address filled in. The schedule is saved only after you choose the timing and click Save Schedule.

Can I pause everything from the popup?

Yes. The switch at the top of the popup pauses or resumes all schedules at once.
