Dark mode

Dark mode changes Tab Scheduler to a dark theme with one switch. It is useful if you plan your schedules late in the evening, work in a dim room, or simply prefer dark screens. Your schedules and settings stay exactly the same, only the colours change.

How dark mode works

The switch sits in the header of the Tab Scheduler settings page, next to the language list. It is the small switch with a moon and sun on it. When you turn it on, the page changes to dark colours straight away, without reloading.

Tab Scheduler remembers your choice. The next time you open the settings page, the History page or the popup from the browser toolbar, they open in the same theme. You do not need to turn it on again on each page.

If you are logged in, the choice is saved together with your other Tab Scheduler settings, such as pausing all schedules and Power Mode.

How to turn on dark mode

1. Click the Tab Scheduler icon in the browser toolbar and click Settings to open the settings page.
2. Look at the top right of the page, next to the language list.
3. Click the switch with the moon and sun on it. The page turns dark.
4. Open the popup from the toolbar to check that it uses the dark theme too.
5. To go back to the light theme, click the same switch again.

When to use dark mode

• Late planning. You set up tomorrow's schedules at night. Dark mode keeps the bright white page from glaring at you in a dark room.
• Matching your system. Your computer and browser already use a dark theme. Turning on dark mode makes Tab Scheduler look the same as everything else on your screen.
• Quick checks. You often open the toolbar popup to see the schedule for the current tab. With dark mode on, the popup opens dark as well.

Good to know about dark mode

• Dark mode is free. It is not part of Premium.
• It only changes how Tab Scheduler looks. It does not change any website you open or close with a schedule.
• The setting is stored in your browser. On another computer or browser, turn it on there as well, or log in so it is saved with your settings.
• Dark mode works in every language that Tab Scheduler supports.
