Your schedules on other browsers

Log in to load your schedules in another browser. Log in there again to pick up later changes.

If you use more than one browser or computer, you do not have to set up your schedules again. Log in to your Tab Scheduler account and your saved schedules load into that browser. It is handy for a work laptop and a home computer, or when you move to a new machine.

How your schedules on other browsers work

While you are logged in, Tab Scheduler saves your new and changed schedules to your account as well as in the browser. When you log in on another browser, it loads the schedules from your account into that browser. Your Dark Mode, Power Mode and pause switch settings come along too.

The sync happens at the time you log in. It is not live. If you add or change a schedule in one browser later, the other browser does not pick it up on its own. Log in again there to load the latest list.

After that, each browser runs its own copy of the schedules. A schedule opens or closes tabs in every browser where it is loaded, as long as that browser is running.

How to get your schedules on another browser

  1. In the browser that has your schedules, click the Tab Scheduler icon and choose Settings.
  2. Click Login at the top of the settings page. The Tab Scheduler website opens in a new tab. Log in to your account there.
  3. Go back to the settings page. The link now says Dashboard, which means you are logged in, and your schedules are saved to your account.
  4. In the other browser, install Tab Scheduler, open its settings page, click Login and log in with the same account.
  5. Your schedules appear in the Scheduled Tab List of that browser.
  6. Later, to pick up changes made somewhere else, log out of your account on the Tab Scheduler website in that browser, then click Login and log in again.

When to use your schedules on other browsers

  • You set up ten work schedules on your office laptop. At home you install Tab Scheduler, log in, and the same schedules are ready in your home browser.
  • You get a new computer. You install Tab Scheduler, log in, and your list is back without setting anything up by hand.
  • On Monday you add a schedule on your laptop. On Tuesday your desktop does not have it yet, so you log in again there and it appears.

Good to know about your schedules on other browsers

  • You can use Tab Scheduler without an account. You only need to log in to load your schedules in another browser.
  • Some things stay in each browser and are not synced, namely your schedule history, your language choice and the Keep the screen on too option.
  • If the same schedules are loaded in two browsers that are open at the same time, both run them, so a tab may open twice. Pause or switch off the schedules in the browser you do not want to use.
  • For a copy you keep yourself, Premium also lets you export your schedules to a CSV file.

Questions and answers

Do my schedules sync automatically between browsers?

No. Your data is synced at the time you log in. Schedules you add after that do not appear in other browsers until you log in again there.

Do I need to stay logged in?

Yes. New and changed schedules are saved to your account only while you are logged in.

Is my schedule history synced too?

No. History is stored only on the device where the schedules ran and is not part of the sync.

Can a tab open twice if both browsers are running?

Yes. Each browser runs the schedules it has loaded, so pause or switch off the schedules in the browser you are not using.
