Just remind me

At the scheduled time you get a reminder with Open now and Skip, instead of the tab opening on its own.

Just remind me (don't open the tab) turns a scheduled open into a reminder. At the scheduled time you get a notification with Open now and Skip, instead of the tab opening by itself. Use it when you want a nudge without being interrupted, for example while you are on a call or in the middle of writing.

How Just remind me works

When the schedule runs, Tab Scheduler shows a notification headed Scheduled now. It shows the title of your schedule, if you gave it one, and the website link. You then choose what happens.

  • Open now opens the website straight away, exactly as the schedule would have. Options such as Open in incognito mode, Open URL In New Window and Open URL in Background still apply.
  • Skip closes the reminder and nothing opens. Your schedule does not change, and a repeating schedule runs again at its next time.

Clicking the reminder itself only closes it. Use Open now when you want the page.

The option works with schedules that open a website, so set the Schedule Type to Open a website or Open, then close. You can use it with every option in Select Frequency. In an Open, then close schedule, only the opening step becomes a reminder. The closing step still runs at its own time.

How to get a reminder instead of a new tab

  1. Click the Tab Scheduler icon in your browser toolbar and choose Settings.
  2. Enter the address in Website Link. Add a Title as well, because it appears in the reminder.
  3. Choose how often it runs in Select Frequency, for example Every Week.
  4. Set Schedule Type to Open a website.
  5. Enter the Open Time and pick the days in Open on days.
  6. Under More options, tick Just remind me (don't open the tab).
  7. Click Save Schedule.
1Open now opens the website, 2Skip leaves it for this time.

When to use Just remind me

  • Weekly timesheet. Every Friday at 16:30 a reminder offers to open your timesheet page. You finish your current task first, then click Open now.
  • Daily stand-up. A reminder for your meeting link appears at 9:55 on weekdays. If you have already joined from your calendar, click Skip and no extra tab appears.
  • Monthly bills. With Every Month and Open on Day set to 1, a reminder to open your bank's payment page appears on the first day of each month.

Good to know about Just remind me

  • Reminders are browser notifications. If you do not see them, check that notifications are allowed for your browser in your computer's settings. On a Mac, for example, look under Notifications in System Settings.
  • The reminder appears even when Don't notify me when this runs is switched on, because the reminder is the whole point of the schedule.
  • Run now and Open All Scheduled Link do not show the reminder. They open the website straight away.
  • Each schedule shows one reminder at a time. If the schedule runs again before you answer, the new reminder replaces the old one. For this reason the option suits set times better than short intervals such as Every Minute.
  • If you pause all schedules, any reminders still on screen are cleared.
  • Just remind me is free on every plan.

Questions and answers

What happens if I ignore the reminder?

Nothing opens unless you click Open now. A repeating schedule still runs again at its next time.

Does Open now use my other schedule options?

Yes. It opens the website exactly as the schedule would, including options such as Open in incognito mode, Open URL In New Window and Open URL in Background.

Can I use Just remind me on a close schedule?

No. It is for schedules that open a website. For a heads-up before a tab closes, use Warn me 60 seconds before closing instead.

Why do I not see any reminders?

Check that notifications are allowed for your browser in your computer's settings. Also check that the schedule is enabled and that all schedules are not paused.
